Our next meeting will be Tuesday, November 9; there will be a Thanksgiving potluck at 6 p.m. (please bring your own plate and silverware) and the meeting will start at 7 p.m. If you would like to make a cash donation ($1 or more) to Feeding America, Macy’s will match any donation you make. We’ll also vote on the slate of Guild officers for 2011. We’ll gather at the Carlisle Reservation Visitors’ Center on Nickle Plate Diagonal Road (directions here). Our next meeting will be Tuesday, October 12 at 7 p.m. – Donna Holmes will lead a question and answer session on knitting socks; she’ll also talk about how learning techniques useful in sock knitting can help improve your knitting on all kinds of projects. Are you interested in learning how to weave? Learn to design your project, create a warp, dress a loom and weave your project in a weekend, October 29-31. This workshop is designed to help weaver wanna-bes (absolute beginners as well as those who would like some refreshers) learn how a loom works to their advantage!
For those completely new to weaving, there will also be a Pre-Weaving 101 workshop Saturday, October 23 to talk about vocabulary, parts of the loom, design principles, planning your project, calculating supply needs for a project – plus, there will be lots of samples to whet your whistle!
