Weaving Wisdom: How to Plan a Successful Project

Description: Successful weaving projects start with a strong plan.  Learn a method to plan your weaving project while still leaving room for creativity, inspiration, and experimentation.

Bio: Nancy Kilkenny has been a handweaver for 16 years and enjoys exploring a variety of weave structures for home textiles and clothing. Working at NASA the last 10 years has given her an appreciation of how math, mechanics, and experimentation expand weaving as an art and practice. She is a member of the Medina Guild, Cleveland West Weavers and Complex Weavers.

I thought I would send this out because it will come down on March 31, prior to the next newsletter. We are doing a demo at the Grafton Public Library on Tuesday, March 29. As part of that Barb and I were asked to put up a display in their front entry way display case. The demo is limited to 25 participants and already all the slots are filled. We also seem to have a good crew to work the demo in the library conference room. (Demonstrators will be getting additional information soon).
I thought you all might enjoy a picture of the display.

Happy New year Everyone!!!!!!!

Well, Happy New Year and here we are going to Zoom meetings.  Yes, the January and February meetings are Zoom meetings.  I will send you the link on by Monday morning prior to the meeting. If you have “show and tell” you would like me to put on the screen, please send pictures to me by 6pm prior to the meeting. (darzas@msn.com)

I will be opening up the meeting by 5:45pm on Tuesday, because the Sheep to Shawl project is having a planning meeting at 6pm.

Lots of things are closing down this month.  I was just told that FAVA has cancelled building access and classes for January.

Watch for an email in the next couple days with a questionnaire button.  Please open it and fill it out, we are looking for opinions and suggestions for the coming year.  It will read “LOCO 2022 Suggestion Box” in the header and be from me and the guild.
